Name: Gyari Dolma
Date of Birth: 25th May 1964  (Tibetan year 2091, Month 4, Date 15th)
Place of birth: Darjeeling
Educational Background:
Went to Darjeeling Day school till 1972 after which got admitted to the Darjeeling boarding school and graduated school in 1981. (Besides being among the highest scoring students in school, she was also  Elected as school prefect and was also the recipient of the Best Girl Award from the Department of Education)
1981 to 1985 - Graduated from Chandigarh University with major subject as Political Science.
1985 - 1988 - Graduated from Delhi University with major subject as Indian and International Law.
Work Experience:
During School:
Founded an association to help the poor and orphan students and worked as its president till graduation from school.
1980 - 81 : Worked as the School Representative in the regional Tibetan Youth Congress of Darjeeling.
During College:
1981 : Elected as the secretary of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress Chandigarh at the age of 16 while also working for the public welfare association. Organized numerous movements to get support towards the Tibetan Struggle and to Introduce the Tibetan Culture during her years as the RTYC secretary.
1982 : She was elected as the head of the women's foreign student quota  at the  Punjab  University and the head of the foreign student association at the Chandigarh women's college.  She organized various  gatherings  in order to create awareness about Tibetan issue within the foreigners students.
During those events she was able to state that Tibet and China are two different sovereign countries and not a part of China.
1984 : Along with Ama Tharing la, She took part in the women's peaceful March of resistance at Delhi and it is an obvious fact that she has been a staunch supporter and activist for the Tibetan Women's Association and its activities.
1986- 1989 : Elected as a member of the Standing committee of the Central Tibetan youth Congress, she took the responsibility of the cultural secretary.
1989- 1991 : Re-elected as a member of the Central TYC standing committee. This time she shouldered the responsibility of the Advertisement Secretary and later as the Joint Secretary. During these years she was not only able to effectively spread awareness on the Tibetan issues and with the help of the Himalayan Tibet Support Group at the time of its establishment, have been able to establish and maintain close ties with the political parties of the Indian parliament, Youth and students political groups those of whom are now the current members of the central and state parliament in India.  
1986 - 1987: Undertook many activities to create awareness among the international organizations and the people around  the world,  in order to seek the release of those imprisoned  and killed during the imposition of martial law in Tibet. She was arrested and held in jail for one week in her pursuits to pressure the chinese government to release the political prisoners of Tibet.
1986- 1988 :  In collaboration with the supporters of Tibet, Gyari Dolma lead a successful movement of attaining as many signatures of various members of the Indian Parliament in support of the Tibetan cause.
1990: Represented Tibetan Youth Congress at the special meeting.
In the same year she pioneered the Association called the International friends of Tibet  at  the Delhi University.
She also participated in the activities of other nation and countries for justice and truth.
She was able to invite the then Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi to the Samyeling Tibetan Settlement at Manjnu-Ka-Tilla and was able to get the Electricity and Water connection for the Manju Katilla Tibetetan Settlement at Delhi.
(1991- 1996), (1996- 2001), (2001- 2006) and (2006-2011) : Elected for four terms as the Dotoe Representative in the Tibetan parliament for four terms continuously.
2001 - 2006 and 2006-2011 : Elected Vice Chairman of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile for three continuous terms.

Since her school-going years to this date and it would be appropriate to say all her life, she has worked with sincerity, without any fear and bias and without any violation of the Charter of the Tibetans in exile.
With His Holiness the Dalai Lama's words in her heart and making it her inspiration and considering the aspirations of the general Tibetan public, she has under taken the following works to the best of her capability, in implementation of the rules and the Charters:
 1) Met and promoted the Tibetan cause to various members of the Parliaments of the World, Political leaders, supporters of Tibet, and especially the members of Indian Parliament at both central and state, which is her continuous task at the moment.
2) As a member of the Emergency committee of Tibetan public for the national crises that happened inside Tibet in 2008, she shouldered the responsibility in offering consolation to the Tibetans who have suffered tremendously in Tibet.
3) Established and maintained a very close and supportive relationship many supporters of Tibet in the International arena and also in India state and nationwise.
4) During the 13th Session of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, year 2005,  She Represented the Tibetan parliament in the 4th Conference of the World parliamentarian Supporter of Tibet  in Edingurgh.  Similarly, in 2009,  during the 14th  Tibetan parliament i Exile, she again represented the parliament in the 5th Conference of the World Parliamentarian Support of Tibet.
She also co-chaired the international parliamentarian  democratic  system started by the Members of the World parliamentarian. She was appointed as the Head of the Tibetan centre for Human Rights and Democracy,  by His Holiness the Dalai lama.
she has contiously and  sincerely commited to  and followed  the path of non violence and democrartice virtues given by His Holiness, in order to bring  effective/ speedy solution to the tibetans issues,  and to protect the unque culture & identity of being tibetan,  , bring unity among tibetans, and to prevent the suffereings of tibetans in tibet udner the brutal occupation by China, and end the the suffering of the tibetans in exile.
